To FFRF List, Did anyone see this article in newspapers or other media? According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel July 19, 1996. "Dadeville, Ala.- A man who lost an early-morning Bible- quoting contest killed the man who beat him, police said. Gabel Taylor, 38, was shot in the face outside his apartment Thursday. Police are searching for the suspect, whose name was not released and who is believed to have left Dadeville, about 50 miles northeast of Montgomery, Police Chief Terry Wright said. Taylor and the suspect were comparing their Bible knowledge outside an apartment complex, each quoting different versions of the same passage, police said." Now don't get me wrong, I don't revel or laugh at the murder of human beings but the total absurdity of this made me laugh at the sheer fanaticism involved here. Can anyone imagine two atheists (or an atheist and christian) arguing so heatedly about religion that the atheist would grab a gun and shoot the christian. Bar none I personally know no atheist who gets violent. (Not that their aren't violent atheists but prison statistics show a much lower proportion of atheists than in the general public).
